WHY INVEST IN A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?
After your wedding you have three things: your relationship, your rings and your photos. You choose to invest in professional photography to capture the memories and moments of the biggest days of your life. We are your eyes for those special moments. We put everything into your wedding day to assure your pictures will be memorable, fun, and beautiful.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOURSELVES?
Love to! Check out our ‘about’ page for some personal information of each of us.
WHAT DO WE GET WHEN WE BOOK YOU?
You get US! For a full day (6+hours) it is two photographers for your wedding, your edited images (600+ for an 8-hour day) personally edited and delivered in color and black & white, delivered to you on an SD card and a slide show video of your day. We also gift all couple’s engagement (or family) photos to be done in the Augusta area.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
We focus on meaningful, natural light and joyful images that are reflective of your day. Our style is a combination of editorial, formal, portrait and journalistic. Your wedding day has lots to cover! Our detailed questionnaire will give us all the details of the day along with tips on how to make it all flow even easier.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
Augusta, Maine and very happy to travel ANYWHERE!
DO YOU HAVE TRAVEL FEES?
Travel fees are ONLY calculated when the round trip is over 200 miles and/or requires an overnight stay.
HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU RECOMMEND?
For a full wedding day, we would recommend 8 to 10 hours. We do offer smaller time frames for smaller more intimate events.
DO YOU PROVIDE SUGGESTED TIMELINES?
Yes. We would love to provide you with sample timelines that will work for your day. There are so many details that go into planning the day, planning the timeline will make sure you have all the time you need for photos and FUN!
HOW DO YOU WORK WITH GROUPS IF WE DON'T LIKE POSED SHOTS?
We don't really pose people, but we do guide people to help you get the images you want. Some of the more formal family images are more posed but it is never overly restricted. We want you to be relaxed, giggling, having fun and guiding you to great images.
HOW LONG BEFORE I GET MY IMAGES?
Please, allow up to 6 weeks for delivery of your completed pictures. And yes, you will get a sneak peek!
DO YOU OFFER PRINTS?
You will be giving a written copy right release for personal use. This means you can print and share the images as many times as you like for life. We love it when you tag us too! You are NEVER obligated to buy any prints from us. We are happy to help you with any suggestions or recommendations for printing but it is all your choice.
CAN I GET BLACK & WHITE, AS WELL AS COLOR IMAGES?
Absolutely! We provide B&W copies of your entire wedding gallery to you at no additional cost.
HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL I RECEIVE?
Each wedding day is unique so we cannot give you an exact number. However, most wedding days will result in at least 600 final images. (Pro-Tip: most weddings result in more than that!)
DO YOU EDIT THE IMAGES YOURSELF?
Yes. We are there...we know the day...the emotions, the feel, the nuisances. Each image gets individual attention to make that image its very best.
DO YOU MAKE BACK-UPS OF THE IMAGES?
OH yes! The RAW original files are backed up in a number of locations. Those are precious.
CAN I GET THE RAW and/or UNEDITED IMAGE FILES?
No. We do not offer the RAW files, unedited images or outtakes for release or sale. We comb through all the files to find the images that tell the story of your day.
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Yes, we do and if your venue requires a certificate please let us know a few weeks ahead of time to make sure we have the certificate for that provider.
HOW CAN I GET ON YOUR CALENDAR?
As long as your date is available, we would need a signed contract with a non-refundable retainer. Dates are all booked on a first come, first service basis.
WHAT IF YOU ARE ILL ...OR DIE BEFORE OUR WEDDING?
Well, we sure hope none of that happens! But life can be unpredictable, we understand that. We bring years of professional work experience to the day and understand 'the show much go on' no matter what. If one of us were ill, the other would attend with an assistant/second shooter. If both were unable to attend EVERY effort would be made to find a suitable replacement.
DO WE HAVE TO PROVIDE YOU DINNER?
No, but is always wonderful if you do. We do step back at dinner time to give you guests a chance to eat without a camera taking photos!
CAN WE GIVE YOU A LIST OF IMAGE REQUESTS?
We always want your input but many of those images on the lists you may find on wedding blogs or Pinterest are already going to be captured. That is what you hired us for ...our expertise. We have a basic list of family combinations. When you start adding more and more family/friends photo combination it adds to the time away from your party! That is why a timeline is so important.
DO YOU DO MORE THAN ONE WEDDING A DAY? A WEEKEND?
One a day! We get tired thinking about more than that. Photographing a wedding can be a physical, mental and emotional experience! Renee ALWAYS cries happy tears at least once on a wedding day. Would we do two in a weekend? Only on a rare occasion would be do a second wedding in a weekend and only if the second wedding is an elopement or intimate event.
CAN WE GET ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS ON A WEEKEND OR EVENING?
Depending on availability, YES! We do schedule sessions on weekends to meet client requests. Most engagement shoots are done a in the afternoon before sunset.
DO YOU PUT WATERMARKS OR LOGOS ON YOUR PICTURES?
No. Our philosophy is that that these are your pictures for all eternity, not a billboard for us.
DO YOU HAVE BACKUP EQUIPMENT?
Yes. We own several professional grade Canon cameras and lenses to ensure there are no problems.
CAN OTHER PEOPLE TAKE PHOTOS AT THE WEDDING TOO?
We encourage you to have an 'unplugged wedding'. What is an 'unplugged wedding'? It is where you guests are asked to put away their cell phones, tablets or cameras and enjoy the day. If you decide to go this route a sign at the ceremony is a good start and have your officiate let them know the professional photographers are there to capture the ceremony and family photos. We are more than happy to share the photo time at the reception with loving family and friends who want photos as well.
